Deta Surf: The future of studying

Table of Contents

Have you ever studied and tried to look for resources that you could have sworn you saved somewhere?

Surf aims to fix that, here’s how.

What problem are they trying to solve?

As a student in 2024, it is very likely that you have a bunch of tabs open in tab groups, have a bunch of notes everywhere and it’s all just a mess.

And the thing is, we live in one of the greatest times for productivity because of AI! So why not integrate it in your workflow?

This the gap Surf attempts to fill with numerous AI powered features in a brand new browser.

How are they solving it?

Surf has a feature called spaces, which is an ingenious take on bookmarking.

As you can see in the picture above, you can collect files, notes and websites in spaces and you do not have to sort it manually! AI will automagically sort your collected things in the adequate spaces which is just chef’s kiss to me.

Surf also has another feature which is essentially an AI chat that has the context of tabs you drag into it or have open, and your spaces! This means that if you have a space dedicated to an exam, you can ask questions about it with no issues!

And this brings me to the last stand-out feature as of now, which they call WYSIWYC, which in this case stands for “What you see, is what you chat“.

This feature allows you to drag a box on the website your currently on, and ask questions about it.

Conclusion

As a student, these features are absolute game changers to me. The browser still lacks some basic things like extension support and dark mode / theming with some stability issues, but that is to be expected since it is still in a closed beta.

But overall, I have been using it for almost a month now, and I can confirm that it helps with studies and probably your job too.
